Additionally, the air ventilation system introduces fresh air into the Biopod and this allows a passive exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide to maintain dissolved gas equilibrium between the water and the air when the system is at disequilibrium.
Currently there is no nutrient sensor or injector for plants or for fish, but we are working on introducing both a micronutrient sensor and automatic injector into Biopods in the future. They definitely can! However, we urge users to take caution and be wary of the combinations of terrestrial and aquatic animals they house within the Biopod.
Some combinations may not work out too well, and some combinations may require an extremely well setup and well established habitat before they work well together. Again, we urge users to take caution and be wary of the combinations terrestrial and aquatic animals they house within the Biopod. The excess water is drained and cycled through the Biopod to be reused through the living wall.
Currently none of the Biopod models are modular, however this is a feature that we intend to introduce to select Biopod models in the future. No, your Biopod can work manually through the App even when it is not connected to the internet. However, an initial wifi connection is required to set-up your Biopod. Otherwise the Biopod will simply run the last programmed day. It should only turn off for a short moment and then turn back on.
Please check and ensure your UV setting is on from the app. Otherwise if the UV bulb is off, contact our technical support at hey biopod. Refer to our guide on how to prime your irrigation pump.
Resetting your Biopod is easy. A soft reset will refresh the Biopods cache and simply acts as a restart. To do a soft reset, simply unplug your Biopod, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. Your Biopod will re-connect automatically to your wifi and continue operating just like before. This is useful if you need to change wifi connections.
Access the back of your Biopod, press and hold the reset button for seconds with a pen and let go. You should see some flashing blue lights which signal that the Biopod is rebooting. Wait 1 minute for the boot cycle to finish before you begin the re-connection process. A full reset combines a hard reset with a soft reset. Then perform a soft reset as described in step 1. Try unplugging and re-plugging your Biopod. If your power goes out, your Biopod will remember your wifi details and automatically reconnect back to your wifi without any issues.
It will also remember your last saved program settings and keep running like normal once power is restored! If your Biopod has suddenly turned off, check first to see if the power adapter is connected into the wall. Check to make sure the cable between the wall and the power adapter is properly fitted and check whether the power adapter is plugged into the Biopod.
If all of these are connected properly, check the wall outlet to ensure it is delivering power. If your Biopod is still off, please contact our technical support at hey biopod. All Biopod models come with an internal voltage adapter. The ideal placement is having both misting nozzles facing the Biopod living wall.
However, we recommend facing the right misting nozzle slightly away from the humidity sensor which is located to the top-right of the Biopod metal frame so it can get a more accurate humidity reading of the air inside the Biopod.
Unplug your Biopod, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. Wait for it to re-connect to your wifi and check the Biopod app to see if the sensor is reporting the proper values. Unplug your Biopod and leave the glass door of your Biopod open for a few hours.
After waiting for a few hours with the Biopod off and the glass door open, plug it back in and wait for it to re-connect to your WiFi. Check the Biopod app to see if sensors are reporting proper values. If none of the above options work, please contact our technical support at hey biopod. We do not recommend adding any additional hardware to your Biopod. If you choose to do so, you will void your warranty. Sometimes the top-glass plastic can pop-up if it is moved from its fixed position.
Simply push the plastic tabs on top of the top-glass back outwards and this will secure the top-glass into the metal frame and prevent it from popping up. The camera can be viewed from the app as long as your Biopod is connected to the internet. Temperature and humidity change throughout the day just like they do in a natural environment. Because the Biopod is intended to replicate micro-habitats, temperature and humidity change steadily as the day and night go on, while at the same time sensors give active feedback to each parameter light, temperature, precipitation, humidity so they adjust according to a set pattern.
The on-board LED lights slowly transition during the entirety of the day to replicate a natural daily photo-period cycle. The Biopod is heated through two main systems. One is an air heating system which directly controls the temperature of the air. Currently the Biopod cannot be cooled but we are designing an add-on to provide this feature in the future. The lowest temperature depends on the ambient temperature of the area where the Biopod is located.
In general Biopods are made of glass, aluminum, and plastic materials. The UV light needs to be replaced every 6 months. UV replacement kits will be available soon through your local retailer. No, but a high-speed connection is better to allow your Biopod to adapt the programmed habitat faster. Currently all of our models can only simulate warm habitats; however, future iterations ersions of Biopods will also come with a cooling feature.
The main differences are dimensions, total volume air and water, and housing capability. Looking for a quote for your project? We use cookies to offer you a better browsing experience, analyze site traffic, personalize content, and serve targeted advertisements.
